  • In a word: no. I point out that some religions do consider teaching "Don't harm the Earth" to be one of their responsibilities, but certainly it is not a universal responsibility of religion to do so. And even more certainly it is not the responsibility of religion in general to actually itself protect the Earth from harm.
  • its the responcibility of everyone of us to not destroy the earth leave it as you found it. When you go some where pick up your rubbish take it home put it in the bin even that seams too hard for more than half the people on this planet. Me and my mate used to go 4 wheel driving in a plantation to find and punch up rubbish dumpers. I cant name a relgious organisation that actually protects children and you think they can protect the earth?

Thanks for sharing! It's the responsibility of EVERYONE to not destroy the Earth, yet non-believers in the God of the Bible are quick to hate their enemies and start wars??? I don't know what world you live in, but many religious organizations are involved in large-scale charitable programs that benefit children. I can name many: Samaritan's Purse, The Salvation Army, Compassion International, Catholic Charities USA, World Vision International, Food for the Hungry, Tearfund, The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and much more.
  • Well think about the word: are we able to respond. What power do we have and what harm could we defend against. If the Sun sends out a solar flare, we are all toast. Religion seeks to answer the ultimate questions of where did we come from and what are we supposed to do. Pope Francis talked about the earth as our common home. To that extent we can tidy up the mess we make, tread lightly because there will be future generations who deserve what we were given, air to breath and water to drink.
