Why are certain movie directors not in prison for the killings of real animals being used in their movies such as Bluebeard 1972 and Cannibal Holocaust from 1980 among others?

These deaths were attributed to the farm's conditions in which they were being kept,which were described as having bluffs, sinkholes, and other "death traps! I think animal rights get involved but these are big movie makers making billion dollar films, they can afford the fines, or slap on the wrists.

8/12/2025, before 1980, the animal rights movement within the film industry was less developed. Fatal Attraction (1987) starring Michael Douglas shows a real rabbit getting boiled in a pot. The movie crew said the rabbit was already dead or at least that's what they want the viewers to believe. It is certainly not for sensitive viewers. All movies made in the US today are monitored by the Humane Society.
