If you make a hand shake agree with some one and they renege what do you do?
The old blokes I work for retired left town on their retirement trip.
As soon as they left i sacked a couple of nuffies that I wanted to get rid of the day I started years a go. The only work left is to cut the grass on a few small property's until they are handed to the new owner in 2 months time, get rid of other stuff which the truckie can an I do. I cant get rid of him yet as he is the only 1 of us that has a truck license. The nuffies rang the owner and he said they can stay till the end. When I talked the truckie into staying to the end the agreement was me and him go halves in all the money left in the account. The agreement I made with owners was theres so much money in this account its for wages and bills till the doors shut the rest is mine As the nuffies were all ways subcontractors same as the rest of us do you think me and the truckie are being greedy?

Not much you can do, unless you had a witness to the agreement. Then you might have a lawsuit. I don't know if your people are a litigious lot or not. Your only recourse might be to give him 2 black eyes and a broken nose. 6/17/25
