The logic of it: the Japanese who fought in WW2 were very prideful people. Japanese beliefs centered on a militarized Bushido. They felt superior to the Chinese and other Asian countries. Japan sought to dominate Asia. Even at their surrender to the Allied forces, some say Japan surrendered because the US dropped the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Others say the atomic bombs did not cause Japan to surrender, since the Japanese were ready to keep fighting. This is why people say too the US was afraid to invade Japan by land, as many Americans would have died. It was the Soviet Union who declared war on Japan on August 8, 1945 that caused Japan to surrender the following month. Japan did not want to fight a war with the US attacking them from the Pacific and Russia from the North.

My father and some of my uncles fought against the empire of Japan inWW2. They always said it was about resources and slave labor for the Japanese. The Japanese believed they had a divine right to overwhelm and conquer their neighbors and take their resources. Just like the Germans with their "lebensraum" creed. The emperor was given some bad advice by his generals and admirals, leading him to believe that the attack at pearl harbor would cripple the US navy to the point of making us an easy target. 12/19/25

They had to expand their influence on the world wide stage, during a century of being taken advantage of by the West, they had to become a bigger player in the game of Chess that elites like to play. There was already an ongoing war between them and China. https://www.britannica.com/event/World-War-II/Japanese-policy-1939-41 https://youtu.be/qeLXnGaJlm4?si=pNo1PAr4Yq_hxcn5
